The handmade clutch purse features Mayan brocade designs traditional to the communities of Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan in the Western highlands of Guatemala. While all feature geometric abstract designs, each coin purse brocade design is slightly different and varied, depending on the artistic inspiration of its weaver. The geometric design is created in the moment as each woman weaves. The rose, lilac, and gray colors are made with artisanal dyes using ash, tree bark, plants, and cochineal insects. The white color is from natural cotton. Dimensions are 8 x 5 x 2in, with water-proof inner lining, cotton loop wristlet, YKK zip close, and smaller zip pocket on backside for coins.

Yabal Home is an artisanal line of handwoven textile accessories. Our fabrics are handcrafted using the Mayan backstrap loom by cooperatives of Guatemalan indigenous artisans. Featuring ecological plant dyes, natural cotton, recycled denim threads, recycled plastic bags, and natural sheeps wool. Yabal is a Fair Trade organization dedicated to the empowerment of rural women artisans. All profits fund social programs for our weavers.
